Wheelchair on Gesture Control

Abstract

There are 65 million people who have access to the wheelchairs and about 80% requires another person to help them commute from one place to another. So, why is there a need of another person to help the disabled? We have prepared this wheelchair that works according to gestures of hand. An accelerometer is used as a sensor which gives an analog signal on its movement in any of the 6 axis directions, that is positive X axis, negative X axis, positive Y axis, negative Y axis, positive Z axis, negative Z axis. In this project we have considered X and Y axis for the direction. The Arduino continuously acquires data from the accelerometer and based on the predefined parameters, it sends a data to the NRF24L01 Transmitter. The data transmitted from transmitter is received by paired NRF2401 receiver, the data received from transmitter are processed by the arduino and appropriate signals are sent to motor driver which will activate the wheels of the motor.
