Abstract:In this paper, we present a method to determine if a lift-and-project cut for a mixed-integer linear program is regular, in which case the cut is equivalent to an intersection cut from some basis of the linear relaxation. This is an important question due to the intense research activity for the past decade on cuts from multiple rows of simplex tableau as well as on lift-and-project cuts from non-split disjunctions. While it is known since Balas and Perregaard (2003) that such equivalence always holds for lift… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
