When We Know Better, We Do Better: Educators’ Storied Reflections on Black Teacher Attrition and Retention

Abstract: This article reports on experiences and perspectives of Black teachers (current and former) within the School District of Philadelphia. Findings are based on interviews and focus groups with 30 educators who shared their thoughts related to Black teacher attrition and retention in the district.
