“…Because PN differ from attitudes since they tend to be steady over time (Juvan and Dolnicar, 2016), it will be impact by information from social media (Han et al, 2021). Some hiker frequently seeks more hedonistic experiences, and as a result, their PN is not completely activated to undertake PEB in the context of tourism (Li and Wu, 2020;Gao et al, 2021;Zhang et al, 2022). Additionally, some novice trail users believe that it is the government's duty, not an individual's, to protect the environment (Zarei et al, 2020).…”

“…Su and Swanson utilized a stimulus–organism–response framework to present and examine an integrated model that investigates consumption emotions (positive and negative) and tourist destination identification as mediating variables between perceived destination social responsibility and Chinese TERB [ 44 ]. Affective factors influence tourists’ willingness to behave in an environmentally responsible manner, and the emotional connection between tourists and the destination, along with the psychological identification that tourists develop with the destination, drive the formation of behavioral attitudes and behavioral intentions related to the environment [ 45 ]. Tourists’ perceived emotions have significantly positive effects on their willingness to pay for rare species conservation [ 46 ].…”

“…There is a wealth of literature concerning pro‐environmental behaviors in tourism. Previous studies have been examining how people behave in different contexts, such as daily environments (e.g., Kaida & Kaida, 2016; Larson et al, 2011), holidays (e.g., Gao et al, 2021; Landon et al, 2018; Lee, 2011; Lee & Jan, 2019; Li & Wu, 2020), or even comparing both settings (e.g., Ganglmair‐Wooliscroft & Wooliscroft, 2017; Mehmetoglu, 2010; Miller et al, 2015; Xu et al, 2020), in an attempt to explore the rationale behind individuals' propensity to adopt pro‐environmental behaviors. For instance, altruism (e.g., Dolnicar, 2010; Landon et al, 2018; Lee & Jan, 2019), moral obligation (e.g., Dolnicar, 2010; Juvan & Dolnicar, 2017; Mehmetoglu, 2010; Miller et al, 2015), attitudes toward the environment (e.g., Moeller et al, 2011; Wang et al, 2019; Xu et al, 2020), place attachment (e.g., Dolnicar, 2010; Dolnicar & Grün, 2009; Lee, 2011), and sociodemographic characteristics, such as age, gender, or educational level (Dolnicar et al, 2019; Dolnicar & Leisch, 2008b; Holmes et al, 2021; Juvan & Dolnicar, 2017; Mehmetoglu, 2010) were found to exert some influence on people's pro‐environmental behaviors.…”
