“…Rightly so, there is a common perception that the infrastructure and the public services, especially the National Health Service (NHS) are unable to cope with the pressure of a growing population (Gietel-Basten, 2016). Carefully crafted stories of EU immigrants jumping the queue for housing or medical care were the final straw and Brexit became without a doubt not only a vote against the European Union but firstly, an anti-immigration vote (Bourne, 2016).
