Why Return? Birdwatching Tourists’ Revisit Intentions Based on Structural Equation Modelling

Abstract: Birdwatching tourism is a model of ecotourism that is beneficial to the sustainable development of developing regions and is growing rapidly in China. In order to explore the development path of birdwatching tourism, this study constructs and tests a model of revisit intention from the birdwatching tourists’ perspective and aims to understand the factors influencing tourists’ revisit intention for birdwatching destinations. The researchers collected 328 valid questionnaires from birdwatching tourists in Mingxi… Show more

“…Studies utilize theories like the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), Service Dominant Logic, and Stimuli-Organism-Response (SOR) Theory to understand and predict tourists' intentions. Analytical techniques such as text classification, negation detection, topic modeling, and structural equation modeling are employed to explore and validate these factors across different tourism contexts (Ambarwati et al, 2023;Ariffin & Susanto, 2023;Gregoriades et al, 2023;Puspokusumo et al, 2023;Ren et al, 2022).…”

“…On the one hand, Birdwatching Ecotourism managers need to focus on environmental sustainability and leverage superior natural conditions to attract more birds while minimizing potential disturbances, especially during mating seasons and other vulnerable conditions. Managers also need to concentrate on creating a comfortable environment for birdwatching tourists, such as improving facilities and infrastructure and providing birdwatching equipment, guidebooks, and information boards to enhance the tourists' experience in birdwatching activities [18].…”

“…Birdwatching is closely related to environment, conservation, and biodiversity. Birdwatchers are known to care more about the environment and conservation (Biggs et al, 2011;Steven et al, 2013;Cooper et al, 2015;Cheung et al, 2017;Ocampo-Peñuela dan Winton 2017;White et al, 2018;Liu et al, 2021;Ren et al, 2022).…”
