Wideband frequency reconfigurable metamaterial antenna design with double H slots

Abstract: This paper presents the design of wideband frequency reconfigurable metamaterial antenna with double H slots. The design is based on the idea of composite right/left-handed transmission line (CRLH-TL) technique. Bandwidth enhancement was achieved by utilizing series left-handed capacitor CL transmission line parameter. The design has several outstanding advantages which include efficient bandwidth to cover many lower Application bands with multi frequency operation characteristics. A comprehensive analysis and… Show more

“…Iterating the process over the spectrum to determine whether or not there is a gap is done with careful sensing conducted to the channel with the least amount of energy. In recent years, MIMO technology has gained significant importance in wireless communication, exclusively in the succeeding generation of wireless communication systems, by supporting much higher data rates than HSDPA and UMTS and 3G networks [17]- [20]. The performance of wireless communication systems is increased by the MIMO technique, which uses numerous antennas at the transmitter and receiver; the system is comprised of multiple transmit antennas (TX) and multiple receive antennas (RX).…”

“…The formation of such interference zeros is discussed in [21], [22] for example of, a Huygens element with an arbitrary ratio of currents and in [23], [24] for a system of two parallel electric dipoles (vibrators). The formation of the fixed zeros of the electric field at a finite distance from the system of radiators carried out by selecting the amplitude and phase difference of their currents [25].…”

“…To date, CRLH metamaterial antennas have been extensively applied in smart antenna, satellite communication and high-resolution radar to promote the system performance [17][18][19]. Moreover, electronic beam-steering CRLH metamaterial antennas integrated tunable components or materials have the ability to beam steer in a fixed frequency and increase the frequency reuse ratio and the spectrum utilization [20][21][22]. Familiar modulation methods, including varactor [23], ferrite [24], BST [25], MEMS [26] and mechanical tuning, are broadly applied in microwave and millimeter wave components.…”
