Wireless Power Transmission Enabled by a Triboelectric Nanogenerator via a Magnetic Interaction

Abstract: Non‐contact wireless power transmission is considered as an ideal energy supply technology due to its convenience and safety. Herein, a subtle triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG)–based non‐contact wireless energy transmission technique is invented via a dynamic magnetic field media. The electricity is first converted into the magnet's vibration. Through the interaction between a pair of magnets, TENG can then wirelessly receive the vibrational energy driven by an electrically induced magnetic field variation. T… Show more

“…In the state of the art, piezoelectric transducers (PE), electrodynamic transducers (ED) or triboelectric transducer (TE) are primarily used [2]- [4]. PE have a high power density, the ability to tune their resonant frequency but they often suffer from ageing since they are made of brittle material.…”

“…Based on triboelectrification and electrostatic induction, triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) have been developed to provide numerous available solutions to difficulty of power supply in large‐scale sensor networks . Triboelectric charges can induce electrostatic potentials or currents triggered by a conventional mechanical motion, which can be acquired as analog signals from TENG‐based sensors . Due to their low cost and high reliability in converting sliding mechanical energy into electrical signals without power consumption, the sliding TENGs, respected as a milestone, have been successfully applied in various fields, medical care, environmental monitoring, and homeland security …”
