With the Anxiety Experienced by Patients Receiving Hemodialysis Treatment During the Pandemic Process The Relationship Between the Perception of Control of Covid-19

Abstract

Objective: This study aimed to determine the relationship between Covid-19 anxiety experienced by patients receiving hemodialysis treatment during the pandemic process and the perception of control of Covid-19. Method: The population of the study, which was conducted with a descriptive design, consisted of 165 hemodialysis patients followed in a hemodialysis center affiliated with a hospital in Erzurum. (N=165) After obtaining the necessary permissions, the study was conducted with 123 patients between January and March 2022. The data of study were collected with the Personal Information Form, the Covid-19 Anxiety Scale, and the Control of Covid-19 Perception Scale. The data were evaluated using SPSS 22.0 statistical program on the computer, using six different statistical analysis methods, mainly the Kruskal Wallis H test and the Tamhane Post Hoc test. Results: The mean score of the Perception of Control of Covid-19 Scale was 2.40±1.02 and the mean score of the Covid-19 Anxiety Scale was 2.71±0.87. The correlation values between the Covid-19 Anxiety Scale and the Covid-19 Control Perception Scale scores were found to be insignificant at the p>0.05 significance level. Conclusion: It is recommended to increase the number of studies examining the relationship between Covid-19 Anxiety and the perception of control of Covid-19.
