Abstract

Green skills are really needed for the green industry. However, green skills have not yet embedded in TVET programme in the TVET curriculum as the green framework is still not in place. Therefore, this study aims to identify the green skills that need to be applied in the TVET curriculum in terms of knowledge, skills and attitude, and next develop the green skills framework for TVET institutions. This study involved polytechnic lecturers from engineering (civil, electrical and mechanical) departments as respondents. The selected location of the study included four zones namely north, central, east and south of Peninsular Malaysia. A total of 350 questionnaires were distributed to the respondents. The findings of this study show that all the measured elements related to knowledge, skills and attitude are needed for the TVET curriculum at polytechnics. The implication of this research is a framework of green skills is to be developed in order to embed these elements into the TVET curriculum at TVET institutions.
