World Industry Digitization in the Context of Ensuring Climate Neutrality

Abstract: The article examines the connection between digitalization and climate neutrality of economy, which is an obvious mainstream in the modern world. Global development programs aimed at solving climate problems and digital transformation of the industry are analyzed. Strategic directions of climate neutrality achievement are considered in accordance with the EU 2050 Strategy, aimed at reducing the greenhouse effect and CO2 emissions. Comparative analysis of the volumes of greenhouse gases emissions generated by t… Show more

“…Furthermore, European Commission declares the necessity of namely "twin green and digital transition" of the economy [4]. Modern scientists maintain the idea of synergetic linkages in "eco-digital" space [5], [6], [7], [8] and emphasize fundamental role of technology clusters in climate stability, particularly in metallurgy, agriculture, energy consumption and transportation [9], [10], [11], [12]. We also have to admit such remarkable global initiatives as "Climate Neutral Now" by United Nations, "Sustainability in the Digital Age" by Future Earth Canada Hub, "Breakthrough energy" by Bill Hates and "Sustainable digitalization" by European Digital SME Alliance.…”

“…Thus, it becomes an important component of modern education in terms of sustainable development. This trend is risen by the global implementation of climate-neutral strategies: the Long-Term Ecological Strategy 2050, the EU Climate Neutrality Roadmap to 2050, the world's first European Climate Law, as well as integration of green and digital transition programs and projects (Maksymova, Kurylyak, 2022). There is no doubt, education system should quickly respond to such important requests, because educational institutions are considered as providers of human oriented changes.…”

“…Additionally, it will assess the potential of technological advancements to address global environmental challenges and guarantee energy security. The research concerns Maksymova and Kurylyak (2022), plays a key role in achieving climate neutrality, allowing to optimise of production processes and reducing carbon emissions. The authors (Kulishov et al, 2023) note that the foundation for the development and implementation of digital solutions aimed at achieving an economy that doesn't affect the environment is the international structure of ecological digital projects.…”
