“…The COVID-19 pandemic has added load to already overburdened health systems and disrupted the delivery of health services globally. According to the worldwide survey carried out by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) 'Noninvasive Cardiology Protocols Study of COVID-19, INCAPS COVID' [7][8][9], the pandemic was associated with a significant reduction in the number of cardiac diagnostic procedures globally and in particular in LAC, where cardiac diagnostic procedure volumes decreased by 36% from March 2019 to March 2020, and 82% from March 2019 to April 2020. The IAEA also conducted a survey to evaluate the recovery of cardiac diagnostic procedures 1-year into the COVID-19 pandemic.…”
