X-ray diffraction study of structural stability of giant proteoglycan molecules of mucus

“…After the HF action, the diffractograms of the welding junc tions of the intestine tissue in the small angle range are literally "filled" by sharp diffraction rings: in the nanosized range from 10 to 0.4 nm, a series of sharp Debye rings at the main spacing of 4.65 nm was recorded. The nanostructural invariant 4.65 (±0.15) nm was attributed by us earlier to the identity period, which is caused by the regular attachment of oli gosaccharide chains to the protein core of the giant molecule of proteoglycans of mucin and intercellular of tissue matrix of tissue [8]. The phenomenon of the appearance of new diffraction lines after HF electrosurgical action was also determined by us on the examples of the silk cocoon of the Bombyx mori silkworm: numerous thin Debye rings in the range from 5 to 0.5 nm were recorded, which are caused by nanostructured ordering, despite the molecular structure remaining stable.…”
