X-ray Structure Analysis of (dl)-DeN-Corynoline, Derived from Hexahydorobenzo[c]phenanthridine Type Alkaloid Corynoline

Abstract: The chemical structure of deN-corynoline (1), which was obtained by the cleavage of C-N bonds of corynoline, was clarified by X-ray crystal analysis to be 7-methyl-7-(4-methyl-benzo[1,3]dioxol-5-yl)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydronaphtho[2,3d][1,3]dioxol-6-ol. The crystal of (dl)-1 belongs to orthorhombic, space group Pbca and has cell constants of a = 13.435(3)Å, b = 23.358(3)Å, c = 10.139(3)Å, and Z = 8.
