The ZrPd 0.6 Ga 2.4 compound crystallizes with AuCu 3 structure type (space group Pm3m, a=4.0667(1) Ǻ, R I =0.0589, R P = 0.0879). The final atomic parameters are: Zr in 1(a) 0 0 0, B iso =0.29(4) Ǻ 2 ; Ga* (Ga*=0.80(1) Ga + 0.20(1) Pd) in 3(c) ½ ½ 0, B iso = 0.34(2) Ǻ 2 ). The ZrPd 0.7 Ga 1.3 compound belongs to KHg 2 structure type (space group Imma, a=4.2456(1), b=6.5387(1), c=7.5342(1) Ǻ, R I =0.0656, R P =0.1603). The final atomic parameters are: Zr in (4e) 0 ¼ 0.5395(1), B iso =0.71(4) Ǻ 2 ; Ga*( Ga*= 0.65(1) Ga + 0.35(1) Pd) in (8h) 0 0.0450(1) 0.1650(2), B iso =0,89(3) Ǻ 2 ).Interaction of components in the Zr-d-metal VIII group-Ga ternary systems has been discussed and generalized.
