(Z)‐7‐Dodecenol attractive to male Agrotis segetum Den. & Schiff. (Lep., Noctuidae) in the field

Abstract: Male turnip moths (Agrotis segetum) are attracted to higher dosages of (Z)‐7‐dodecenol, which compound has not been described among the behaviorally active pheromone components of the species. This attraction is enhanced by the addition of (Z)‐5‐decenol. Indirect evidence is presented suggesting that the alcohols are in some way mimicking the effect of the corresponding acetates, known as pheromone components.
