Z-sourced unified power flow controller

Abstract: This paper presents a brief review of Z-source converter. This converter employs a unique impedance network to couple the converter main circuit to the power source thereby overcoming the limitations of the traditional converters and provides a novel power conversion concept. This new converter topology is examined with Unified Power Flow Controller(UPFC) and a simulation study was carried out in MATLAB-Simulink.
