Abstract: Since zinc is involved in many aspects of the hematopoietic process, zinc supplementation can reduce erythropoiesis-stimulating agents (ESAs) in patients undergoing hemodialysis. However, it remains unclear whether hypoxia-inducible factor–prolyl hydroxylase inhibitors (HIF-PHIs) have similar reduction effects.
