“…At a low concentration of C1, this Zn II ‐chelating effect thus has an overriding effect and prevents the formation of S. aureus biofilm. It has been observed in solid‐state X‐ray crystallographic studies of C1 that the ligand forms self‐assembled aggregates through various intermolecular H‐bonding modes, due to the presence of the thiourea moiety, and π‐stacking interactions, due to that of the naphthalene unit. Hence, it is envisaged that an increase in the concentration of C1 in solution could also result in the formation of the aggregated species.…”
