Abstract:Background. Sarcopenia is a disease that primarily affects the elderly, especially women, and is characterized by a gradual loss of muscle and strength. The clinical definition of sarcopenia is defined as a progressive loss of skeletal muscle mass, which carries the risk of physical disability, reduced quality of life and increased mortality.
