“…[4,5] Optical limitters offers normal transmittance under ambient condition and attenuates significantly under intense beams. [1][2][3] A number of materials like porphyrins, [6] phthalocyanines, [6,7] fullerenes, [1] nanoparticles (NPs) [8] and nanocomposites [9] were investigated for optical limitting (OL) applications. Non-linear absorption, nonlinear refraction and non-linear scattering are the major non-linear mechanism responsible for limiting action.…”

“…3(a), FTIR spectra of the PVP polymer reveal an absorption band at 3 275.90 cm -1 that can be attributed to the O-H (and C-H) stretching of carboxylic acid groups, as well as a band of 2 913.98 cm -1 attributed to the asymmetric stretching of CH 2 [21]. In addition, peaks at 1 733.39 and 1 655.39 cm -1 confirm the existence of aldehyde and asymmetric stretching of C-O, respectively [22,23], and evidence of CH 2 wagging and N−C stretching were observed at 1 241.30 and 1 088.48 cm -1 , respectively. Finally, a peak at 839.80 cm −1 can be attributed to a C-C bond [22].…”

“…[58,59] This feature has important applications in the protection of eyes and sensors from intense laser damage. [60,61] Comparing S1-S4, at each incident power density, the normalized transmittance at the focus point increases as the annealing temperature increases. This result is consistent with the above mentioned and the probable reason is that the defect states reduced by thermal treatment.…”
