Abstract: In newborns, acute appendicitis is a very rare condition associated with significant lethality. Due to mostly non-specific symptoms, it is difficult to find the correct diagnosis preoperatively. Interestingly, rectal bleeding as a clinical sign in neonatal appendicitis is very uncommon.
