Zum Status der Psychotherapieforschung im deutschen Sprachraum - Eine bibliometrische Analyse dreier deutschsprachiger Zeitschriften

Abstract: Psychotherapy research is a well-represented and multifaceted field in the German speaking research community. However, the traditional distinction between efficacy and process research among the various schools of psychotherapy research may be hampering further developments in this branch. The government-funded research networks may turn out to be promising approaches to overcoming some of the obstacles of classic psychotherapy research.

In a similar approach, in 2010, authors published a bibliometric analysis on "Psychotherapy research in the Germanspeaking community" on the basis of the volumes 2008 and 2009 of 3 German language journals [8], among them Zeitschrift für Psychiatrie, Psychologie und Psychotherapie, another of the journals included in this study. The same line of research was pursued in a 2011 paper on "Gender in mental-health research" [9]: the authors analyzed articles in 3 German language journals, published in the years 2009 and 2010.…”

“…The same line of research was pursued in a 2011 paper on "Gender in mental-health research" [9]: the authors analyzed articles in 3 German language journals, published in the years 2009 and 2010. In total, 6 quoting articles employed the method of reviewing publications in a restricted number of German-language journals in the preceding 2 years [7][8][9][10][11][12]. The preceding 2 years were also the frame of reference for an editorial in Fortschritte der Psychiatrie und Neurologie on how a particular topic (dementia research) had been covered in the same periodical [13].…”
