“…Previous X‐ray and IR/Raman combined study pointed out that Ba and Sr‐based hydroxides form different allotropic phases and hence exhibit different vibrational signatures with peaks at 3606/3481 (Sr) and 3596/3360 (Ba) cm −1 . The example of Sr/Ba hydroxide halides shows that two different phases with high (~3610 cm −1 ) and lower (3543/3492 cm −1 doublet) wavenumber positions may exist as a function of the thermal history. Thus two alternate assumptions can be made: the first suggesting an incomplete drying of some previous hydroxides and the second postulating the presence of phases with different structures.…”
