Show more

“…It should be emphasized that five out of six patients displaying elevated plasma FSH revealed abnormal testes on clinical observation ( Table 1 , patients no. 12, [17][18][19][20]. Furthermore, LH, prolactin, and testosterone plasma levels were normal except for marginally elevated prolactin in one patient (no.…”

“…five men (mean age 65.2 years, range 58-72) with advanced prostate cancer and who underwent bilateral Later, fine-needle aspiration (FNA) of the testis, pioneered by Obrant and Persson [7], was proposed as a nonorchidectomy. The testis to be examined was exposed surgically invasive technique but did not become a routine clinical method either, although it is a relatively non-traumatic under local anaesthesia (including spermatic-cord infiltration) and punctured at least twice with a 23 G needle.…”

“… 1 2 Open testicular biopsy has been used for decades for assessment of intratesticular steroid concentrations in infertile men, but is too invasive for evaluation of normal healthy men and requires general anesthesia which might profoundly affect the results. 3 4 Testicular fine-needle aspiration (FNA) was first developed for its role in the evaluation of male infertility in 1965, 5 and became more widely used as a diagnostic procedure in the 1990s. 6 In 2001, Jarow and colleagues adapted this minimally invasive percutaneous FNA technique for the measurement of intratesticular hormones in normal, healthy men.…”
