α-cluster decay from 24Mg resonances produced in the 12C(16O,24Mg)α reaction*

Abstract: An α-transfer and cluster-decay experiment, 12C(16O,24Mg→α+20Ne)α, was performed at a beam energy of 96 MeV. Both the recoil and the decay α particles were detected in coincidence, allowing to deduce the energy-momentum of 20Ne fragment. A number of resonant states of 24Mg are reconstructed up to an excitation energy of about 30 MeV.
