Abstract:Aluminum alloys of the Al-Mg system are widely used in automotive and aviation industries due to their combination of strength, good ductility and corrosion resistance. Increasing the percentage of magnesium leads to higher strength of the material with a slight reduction of ductility. Behavior of critical stresses in materials were studied under variable strain rate loading conditions. The possibility to predict critical dynamic stresses of materials based on a structural-time approach is discussed.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
