Abstract:The anisotropy of the elastic and photoelastic properties of calcium molybdate crystals has been studied for Bragg diffraction of light by longitudinal acoustic waves propagating in the (001) plane. It is shown that the efficiency of the acousto-optic interaction can be characterizedby the introduced acousto-optic efficiency coefficient, which is determined from the elasticand photoelastic constants of the crystal. A strong dependence of the coefficients of the acousto-optic quality and the acousto-optic effic… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
