Abstract:Using the coupled-wave method supplemented by the quasi-optical approximation, we study the dynamics of wide-aperture distributed-feedback (DFB) heterolasers with planar resonators having a step of corrugation phase. In configurations where the width of the Bragg structure is several times smaller or equal to the width of the active zone, the diffraction transverse losses provide mode selection with respect to the transverse index and, simultaneously, suppress the excitation of the longitudinal modes with freq… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
