Abstract

The humanization of social life and personal orientation of the education system became the basis of Ukrainian scholars’ scientific research dedicated to the problems of childhood and children’s development during the 1990s. The main directions of research dedicated to the problems of childhood and children’s development were: a child as a member of a social group and an individual; a child as a constructor of his own life, development and environment; childhood history; person’s spiritual development; formation of child’s creative abilities and cognitive activity; intensification of educational process; person’s self-realization; health maintenance of children; formation of national consciousness
