Abstract

This article examines the nature of current oil recovery and knowledge of residualoil types, which is especially important when developing and introducing new ways to increase oilrecovery. In this regard, the geological characteristics, features of natural reservoirs, heterogeneity ofreservoirs and properties of oil from some fields have been studied. Physical and chemical indicatorsof oil were investigated, as well as samples of produced water from the Kokzhide deposit wereanalyzed for further research on the possibility of using polymers for enhanced oil recovery
