The article considers the designs of electrohydraulic drives (EHD) of sucker rod well pump units (SRPU), the factors re-straining the introduction and wide spread of promising SRPU at oilfields being revealed. The search for technical solu-tions allowing to eliminate the revealed problems is carried out. The design features of the EHD SRPU are being ana-lyzed. It is shown that the most widespread in the Russian oilfields is the EHD SRPU with electrodynamic balancing. The statistical information on emergency failures of EHD SRPU with electrodynamic balancing was analyzed. The main technical difficulties related to the operation of EHD SRPU with electrodynamic balancing, such as low reliability of the hydraulic part and the presence of parasitic EMF in the electric power recovered in the oilfield network, were de-termined. Nodes limiting the resource of the EHD SRPU have been identified. Technical solutions aimed at improving the reliability and energy efficiency of operation of EHD SRPU with electrodynamic balancing have been developed. The proposed technical solutions allow to eliminate the disadvantages of EHD SRPU with electrodynamic counterbal-ancing, preventing its wide implementation at oil producing fields, and, accordingly, to increase the profitability of oil production due to the realization of the advantages of EHD SRPU with electrodynamic counterbalancing.
