Abstract

This article is dedicated to the analysis of the concepts of "gifted", "talented", and "capable" students in contemporary philosophy. The article extensively explores the semantics and usage of these terms in pedagogical practice, focusing on theoretical aspects and the work of scholars from around the world who have engaged with these issues.The first part of the article focuses on the examination and analysis of various approaches to interpreting the concepts of "gifted", "talented", and "capable" students in the philosophy of education. Debates within the academic community regarding their interchangeability and utilization in pedagogical practices are highlighted.The second part of the article proposes an integrated approach to understanding these concepts, which is based on the research of distinguished scholars such as Harold Gardner, Robert Sternberg, John Gates, and others. Their contributions to developing theories of giftedness and abilities provide an essential context for comprehending these concepts in contemporary philosophy.The third part of the article addresses the national context, exploring the work of domestic scholars such as Oleksandr Zakharchenko, Liudmyla Vorontsova, Oleksii Volk, and others, who have researched the concepts of giftedness and abilities within the context of Ukrainian education.This article offers an in-depth review and synthesis of various approaches to the concepts of "gifted", "talented", and "capable" students in contemporary philosophy, based on research from both Ukrainian and global academia. The presented material contributes to the understanding of the issues related to giftedness and abilities within the context of educational institutions, and it facilitates the development of innovative approaches to nurturing the potential of each student.
