Abstract

The current study aimed to verify the differences in executive functions according to gender and age, and identify predictability of sleep disorders of executive functions and efficiency distinguish of executive function between high and low level of sleep disorders for healthy elderly, and the sample consists of ( 243) of the elderly, of whom (110) male, (133) females with an average age (67.20) and standard deviation (5.27) years, applied to the Behavior Rating Inventory of executive function(BRIEF) to measure deficiency of executive functions and sleep disorders scale, Multiple regression analysis and discrimination analysis were conducted. Results indicated the effectiveness of working memory in discriminate between male and female, and showed that sleep disorders predict of all executive functions deficiency, and the effectiveness of the executive functions, regulate behavior and metacognition, and the dimensions of the initiation and working memory, Shifting and self-monitoring in distinguishing between high and low level of sleep disorders
