Abstract

The current research aims to identify the nature of the relationship between work family conflict and the big five personality factors on the one hand and life satisfaction on the other hand among teachers of the primary stage in Suez, and to reveal the predictive value of each of the Work Family Conflict and the big five personality factors with life satisfaction. In addition, it aims to reach the predictive value of the big five factors of personality with work family conflict. To achieve these goals, the research was conducted on a sample of (211) teachers of the primary stage in Suez. And after applying the Work Family Conflict scale (prepared by: Carlson et al., 2000, Arabization of the researcher), and Big Five Personality Factors Scale (prepared by: Goldberg 1999, Arabization of Abu Hashem, 2007), and the Life Satisfaction Scale (prepared by: Magdy El-Desouki, 2013) on the study sample, the data were analyzed. The results revealed a positive significant correlation between the work family conflict dimensions and the "neuroticism", and a significant negative correlation with the "extraversion and openness to experience" factors. The results also showed a negative, statistically significant correlation between work family conflict and life satisfaction, and a positive, statistically significant correlation between the factors of "extraversion", "openness to experience" and life satisfaction. While there is a negative, statistically significant, correlation between "neuroticism" and life satisfaction. work family conflict predicted life satisfaction, and extraversion is the factor most capable of predicting life satisfaction, and the results showed that extraversion, openness to experience, and neuroticism were the most predictive factors of work family conflict.
