“…The NONETHFLAVO members are among the most abundant small mammal fauna in forests of the Eastern Afromontane biodiversity hotspot south of the Ethiopian Highlands, including the Kenya Highlands, Albertine Rift montane forests, Tanzanian Highlands, and the Southern Rift montane forests [ 5 , 7 , 11 , 15 , 22 , 34 – 36 ]. As such, they are a key ecological component in these biodiversity hotspots, serving both as prey to raptors and small carnivores and as predators of invertebrates [ 11 , 37 ].
