虚弱高齢者用10秒椅子立ち上がりテスト(Frail CS-10)の有用性の検討

Abstract: [Purpose] In this study, we investigated the utility of the Frail CS-10, a modified version of the 30-second chair stand test for the frail elderly, and the relationship between lower limb strength and walking ability in frail elderly persons.[Subjects] The subjects were 117 elderly persons, 54 men and 63 women, who were either frail or certified as in need of low levels of care with an average age of 77.9  9.0 years. [Method] We investigated the relationships among Frail CS-10, quadriceps femoris strength,… Show more

“…The CS-30 test is often impractical because many elderly people cannot stand up repeatedly with their arms folded. 22) In contrast, the SLR repetition count can be used for elderly people who cannot stand up from a chair because it can be easily performed on a bed, regardless of the mobility of the patient. The TUG test requires a space of at least 3 m and can sometimes be difficult to measure at the bedside.…”

“…Researchers in a study of older adults in Japan used a test called the Frail 10-Second Chair Stand Test to measure the number of times a person could stand up in 10 s without using their hands in a similar way to the SPPB and found that it was independently associated with quadriceps strength and TUG test score, which represents dynamic balance [ 47 ]. These findings suggest that the chair stand test can be used to assess overall lower extremity muscle strength even when used alone in the oldest old over 90 years of age (in Japan).…”

“…Frail CS-10 is a testing method that has been associated with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) in frail elderly people [ 32 ]. The participants were seated in a chair without armrests and instructed to stand and sit repeatedly after a start signal.…”
