The possibility of Tc precipitation with organic complexes of Fe(II) from nitric acid solutions was studied. Ferroin nitrate (o-phenantroline complex of iron(II)) was chosen as the optimal precipitant for the TcO 4 -immobilization. The conditions for maximum Tc yield (93 ± 5 %) were determined and the composition of formed sediments was studied. Fe-Tc matrix can be obtained by thermal treatment of the formed sediments in the reductive atmosphere. The process of thermal treatment of the precipitates was studied. The obtained Fe-Tc matrix was tested for Tc leaching and showed a high resistance to the environment.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
