The method for revealing single phase earth faults based on controlling the admittance of the zero sequence circuit is considered. The key theoretical statements are given. An improved measurement algorithm and protection actuation characteristics are proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed solutions is verified by the results of investigations aimed at analyzing the efficiency of the method based on the calcu lation model and real distribution network.Keywords: medium voltage distribution networks, single phase earth fault protection, control of the zero sequence circuit admittance.
Peculiarities of the real time digital modeling complex that allow them to be used to perform a complete test cycle of relay protection systems under conditions maximally close to a real service environ ment are considered. The structure of methodical base necessary for effectively carrying out this testing is pro posed.
