The results are given of observations with the 6-m telescope and laboratory investigations of a two-chamber image converter of type ~{K-91v with magnetic focusing, field 25 • 40 mm 2, and a plane fiber optic output.An original magnetostatic system has been developed [5] for focusing the image, and this has significantly raised the efficiency of observations.The estimated magnitude limit of the 6-m fast sgectrograph with the tube ~{K-91v for reciprocal dispersion 50 ~/mm has been found on the basis of the observations to be not less than 21 m for an exposure of I h.
