Abstracf--This paper presents a new analytical model for high-torque and low-speed transverse flux machines with flux collecting permanent magnet type. The model is developed based on approximating the permeance in the air gap between rotor and stator using quasi-flux tubes with boundaries determined by straight lines and semicircular segments. Three kinds of produced torques are achieved analytically and the results are compared to the three dimensional finite element simulation results.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
