The multilevel topologies allow the power transfer for applications in the range of medium voltage drive with switching frequency of about kHz. In the three phases applications, some of these topologies have many switches. In order to reduce this number of switches, it is possible to share some of them between several phases and thus reduce the total number of switches. Based on a known topology of three phases ASNPC [1-2], this paper proposes to share some of these switches in order to optimize the silicon used but retaining all the properties of the initial topology. This new topology has interesting properties regarding the redundancy of the combination for many levels. These redundancies are then used to reduce overall system losses.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
