E-diagnosis in the context of power industry means conducting remote, on-line diagnosing of electrical equipment with the use of several technologies like distributed data processing, distributed databases and modern communication protocols. In the paper the concept of e-diagnosis of switchgear equipment that separates spatially raw data acquisition, data processing and data storage has been described. While systems for remote diagnosing the Circuit Breaker condition with data processing going on in dedicated data concentrators have been known for some time, the e-diagnosis system described in the paper uses IEC 61850 standard for data transmission and SQL databases with remote access for computed data exchange. Distributed intelligence in the system makes it Smart Grid like. In the paper detailed algorithms and techniques for CB signals parameters extraction have also been presented.Index Terms-circuit breaker, expert systems, power system protection, signal analysis,
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
