This paper describes the phenomenon of thermal conicity (TC) of railway wheels that occurs as the result of excessive thermal loads generated in the process of braking using brake blocks and then cooling to ambient temperature. The TC phenomenon is described using a standard BA004 railway wheel and load values derived from the TSI ‘Rolling stock’ guidelines. A methodology for determining the thermal loads created during braking is described, as well as the individual stages of the creation of a model based on the finite element method.
This article presents the results of studies on the impact of the percentage of copper in the carbon composite of the railway pantograph contact strips on the maximum temperatures of the contact wire of the overhead contact line. The tests were carried out in accordance with the requirements of standards [7, 9] and TSI [4]. The obtained relationship allows for an initial assessment of the introduced materials due to the contact wire heating criterion based on the copper content of the carbon composite, which greatly facilitates the design process and the initial assessment of the pantograph slides performance. This publication also indicates the minimum value of the percentage of copper at which the standard requirements [7] for railroad wire heating are still met.
This article aims to characterize the authorial SimProLOGIC program, version 2.1, which enables one to conduct a cost analysis of individual links, as well as the entire logistic supply chain (LSC). This article also presents an example of the analysis of the parameters, which characterize the supplier of subsystems in the examined logistic chain, and the results of the initial optimization, which makes it possible to improve the economic balance, as well as the level of customer service for a sample test task.
The article presents an analysis of the possibility of using a smartphone for sound recording and analysis in relation to reference measurements carried out with laboratory equipment. The scope of the possibility of using recordings by non-calibrated noise measurement (smartphones) was presented, along with limitations and additional requirements that must be met so that such a measurement could be used for further analysis.
W publikacji przedstawiono podstawy aerodynamiki pojazdów szynowych w uproszczonym, autorskim ujęciu, które w sposób ilościowy obrazuje układ
obciążeń działających na skład pociągu w trakcie ruchu. W artykule
wskazano na zakresy prac prowadzonych w ramach aerodynamiki pojazdów
szynowych oraz omówiono jej specyficzne wykorzystanie dla określenia
intensywności oddawania ciepła generowanego w trakcie hamowania do
otoczenia z układu koło kolejowe – klocek hamulcowy (KKH). Uzyskany w ten
sposób rozkład współczynnika konwekcji jest podstawową wielkością
niezbędną do wykorzystania w trakcie modelowania wszelkich zjawisk
termicznych w układzie KKH. W ramach publikacji przedstawiono również
wyniku rozkładu prędkości strugi powietrza dla hamowania lokomotywą
EU07 z prędkości 100 km/h.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
