We developed a 10 GHz feedback oscillator with ultra-low phase noise. The oscillator was constructed to operate as the pump for the parametric transducers of the Mario Schenberg gravitational wave detector. We calculated the performance of the detector with this pump oscillator and determined how much improvement in phase noise would be necessary in order to reach the standard quantum limit in sensitivity.
Abstract-The latency effect in long-distance gigabit links and networks may lead to some transmission penalties, as here discussed and illustrated through various examples. When transcontinental or overseas connections are considered, these penalties may become remarkably severe. By evaluating and discussing realistic cases, some countermeasures are suggested. These last may include an important conceptual change in several well-established protocols and a substantial increase in the data packet sizes together with some other modifications concerning the physical layer management.Resumo -0 efeito de latencia em enlaces e redes de alta velocidade e longa distancia podem levar a algumas penalidades de transmissao, como e aqui discutido e ilustrado por meio de varios exemplos. scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
