Abstract.Cs salinity, light conditions, temperature and growth rates seem to work in the same direction as the variations in seawater concentrations. A lack of correlation between salinity and 99 Tc concentrations in the algae indicates a slower dynamic in uptake and/or secretion for technetium. The observed differences between the two species may partly be explained by the difference in growth rate and life length between the two species.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
