BACKGROUND:
Patient satisfaction is a comprehensive measurement of patients' happiness with the level of health care delivered to them both inside and outside the physician's office. It is commonly used as an indicator to assess the health-care quality and affects a wide range of components related to the provision of health services such as ease of access, medical malpractice, and clinical outcomes. The study aimed to analyze patients' satisfaction with the quality of health care they received at the outpatient department of Klinik Kesihatan Maharani Muar Healthcare Facility (KMMHF), Johor.
MATERIALS AND METHODS:
This cross-sectional study was conducted between August and December 2019 period. Demographic information and information on patients' feelings about their physicians, treatment, and health facilities provided were collected from 407 consented patients in a simple random sampling survey using a researcher-made, an adapted Medical Interview Satisfaction, questionnaire which was pilot tested before administration to the patients. Data were analyzed with SPSS version 23. Descriptive statistics and correlational and group comparison analyses were utilized.
RESULTS:
Of the 407 patients studied for physician–patient satisfaction, the overall mean of all the respondents responding was 4.089 ± 0.5, which was ranked the highest among the three objectives. The effectiveness of treatment came as the second highest with the overall mean of 4.088 ± 0.5. Finally, the overall health-care facilities had the lowest overall mean of 4.077 ± 0.5 among the three.
CONCLUSION:
Most patients who visited KMMHF were mostly satisfied with the outcomes of physician–patient interaction in the clinic.
The prevailing due to the pandemic has led to complete inaccessibility of any dental clinics even at times of emergency. Hence, dental patients are now resorting to home remedies to relieve their toothache. The main aim of this study is to know home remedies for patients suffering from mild dental pain during this condition and to spread possible remedies they can do at home itself rather than moving out of the house. A total of about 50 people were taken in this study where the questionnaires were spread among dentists, Ayurveda health care professionals, pharmaceutical workers, medical doctors, and practicing students. The questionnaires were framed and distributed through Google forms. The results were collected and then through SPSS software. Descriptive statistical analysis was carried out and chi square test was used and p value was calculated. From the survey, it is seen that salt water is mostly suggested by health care professionals for dental pain as home remedies. it can be advised to be taken by the patients suffering from mild dental pain in this .
A cast post is a one-piece unit that is custom fabricated for the tooth at the dental laboratory. Traditional extracts such as neem and green tea have good antimicrobial and antioxidant activity against pathogens. The empty canal space may provide a suitable environment for promoting bacterial growth. The main aim of the study is to find the antimicrobial activity of the cast post coated with the nanoparticle. Prepared cast post was coated with prepared green tea and neem-mediated zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles. Culture is done in agar media where control is noncoated post and another is nanoparticle coated post was implanted in the agar media. The zone of inhibition was noted and statistical analysis was done. The maximum zone of inhibition found on Candida albicans (19.333 2.081) followed by Enterococcus faecalis (14.000 3.605), and Streptococcus mutans (12.666 2.516). Green tea and neem-mediated ZnO nanoparticle showed good antimicrobial activity against the tester microorganism. Cast post coated with nanoparticles has been proved to be important as it is helpful in the prevention of origin and spread of infection around the canal and through the apical foramen.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
