It was obtained a decrease in tool consumption due to the use of solid carbide end mills. This is achieved by replacing the material of the cutter shank with a cheaper one in comparison with monolithic (solid) cutters, as well as through the use of coatings on compound cutters. It is shown in the work that the stresses arising in the tool material exclude the breakage of the shank of the compound cutter at the point of attachment of the cutter in the chuck of the machine and prevent the exhaustion of strength in the carbide cutting part of the cutter.
