Five potato varieties were grown at four sites over 2 years, and assessed for yield, specific gravity and for sloughing, texture and discoloration following steaming. Variation in discoloration was attributed to differences between sites. Genetic differences were established for specific gravity, sloughing and texture, all of which were positively correlated. Genotype x environment interactions and years x sites interactions contributed to the variation for these and the remaining variables.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
