AbstrakDi tengah persaingan dalam industri Bank Perkreditan Rakyat (BPR) yang semakin ketat, setiap manajemen BPR harus dapat menggunakan dan mengelola aset yang dimilikinya secara efektif dan efisien, sehingga BPR mampu meningkatkan kinerja keuangannya dalam hal mendapatkan laba yang optimal. Dalam penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk dapat mengetahui sejauhmana perkembangan kinerja keuangan BPR yang berkaitan dalam pengelolaan kegiatan usaha untuk melakukan efisiensi Biaya Operasional Pendapatan Operasional (BOPO), dengan menekan terjadinya kredit yang bermasalah (NonPerforming Loan) sebagai faktor penentu Return On Asset (ROA). Objek perusahaan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pada PT BPR Karawang Jabar (Perseroda), sebuah Bank Perkreditan Rakyat milik Pemerintah Daerah di Jawa Barat. BPR ini dipilih menjadi objek penelitian sebab dalam operasionalnya selama tahun 2019, 2020, 2021 sekalipun terdampak pandemi namun masih tetap mengalami pertumbuhan dalam jumlah aset dan mampu melakukan efisiensi BOPO dengan menurunkan rasio Non Performing Loan (NPL), sehingga BPR mampu meningkatkan ROA yang cukup signifikan pada tahun 2020 dan 2021 dibandingkan dengan tahun 2019. Penelitian yang dilakukan ini mendapatkan hasil kesimpulan bahwa semakin efisien rasio BOPO yang diikuti dengan pengendalian risiko dan penanganan kredit bermasalah yang tepat sehingga rasio NPL semakin menurun dari tahun ke tahun, maka dapat memberikan kontribusi positif bagi peningkatan BPR dalam memperoleh Return On Asset (ROA) yang sehat. Kata Kunci: Biaya Operasional Pendapatan Operasional, Non Performing Loan, Return On Asset Abstract In the midst of increasingly fierce competition in the Rural Bank (BPR) industry, every BPR management must be able to use and manage its assets effectively and efficiently, so that BPR is able to improve its financial performance in terms of getting optimal profits. In this study, it aims to be able to find out the extent of the development of BPR's financial performance related to the management of business activities to carry out operational cost efficiency of Operating Income (BOPO), by suppressing the occurrence of non-performing loans as a determining factor for Return On Asset (ROA). The object of the company used in this study is PT BPR Karawang Jabar (Perseroda), a rural bank owned by the Regional Government in West Java. This BPR was chosen as the object of research because in its operations during 2019, 2020, 2021 even though it was affected by the pandemic but still experienced growth in the number of assets and was able to carry out BOPO efficiency by reducing the Non Performing Loan (NPL) ratio, so that BPR was able to increase ROA significantly in 2020 and 2021 compared to 2019. This research concluded that the more efficient the BOPO ratio followed by risk control and proper handling of non-performing loans so that the NPL ratio decreases from year to year, it can make a positive contribution to the increase in BPR in obtaining a healthy Return On Asset (ROA).
